♥ Yaoi Events! ♥

Yes! As some of you have probably heard through the grapevines and what not, we ARE hoping to have some sort of Yaoi-themed events at this year's convention. Along with the manga library, we are planning to add an exclusive 18+ Yaoi section. Along with at least one in-depth Yaoi Panel, we are also hoping to have a Yaoi-themed slumber party. While the specifics for some of these events are still in-the-works, we will try to update you as the information becomes available, so be sure to check back here for updates! (Updates will be noted in this post as they occur.)

I'm sure we'll also have Yuri, Hentai, and all things Ecchi at this year's con as well! I know that if we don't have much planned as the date gets closer, I'll be (by default) the perv to host those as well! Not that I'm complaining, though!

Anyhow, back to the YAOI subject! Anyone with additional Yaoi-themed event ideas, please email me! Trust me when I say that Panda and I would just love to add more man porn into the agenda! ♥

The Yaoi events are going to be hosted by two individuals who are very open to homosexuality and pride themselves on being knowledgeable in regards to the real-life roles it plays in history, social status, religions, and cultures around the world. Because of the subject matter, we insist that anyone attending any of our 18+ events comes with an open mind. THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO TOLERANCE FOR DISCRIMINATION OF ANY KIND!!! If you are unable to attend with an open mind and find yourself inclined to make comments like those quoted above, please DO NOT ATTEND THESE EVENTS!!!

Any further questions, comments, concerns are more than welcome, so long as they are not nearly so rude. I assume that those of us who are actually curious and/or interested in this genre understand what the hosts expect as far as decency. For the many of you who do NOT share the opinion of the quoted poster, I apologize that I've wasted your time with this post.

Then perhaps you should have found a way to be much more clear with your point. Saying things like, "I'm straight," and "...to the point it goes against my faith."

Such prudish thinking as conveyed by these excerpts is what led me to post what I did. I will not apologize for any of it so if that's what you're expecting, you won't get it. I only apologize when I feel that I'm wrong. I am not wrong to have posted that as a reply to your less-than-proper post in regards to the topic of this thread. I take these events seriously, especially because I have been part of the gay rights movement for years. I feel very strongly about some of the topics that will be discussed and will never hesitate to have anyone who shows any disrespect removed from the events.

If you do not like the subject material, do not attend the events. The logic there is simple, so I can't understand why you are unable to grasp it.

To reiterate and clarify beyond a doubt what these events will encompass, I've listed a description of each event below, along with a loose definition of the word "YAOI" for those of you who don't quite understand:

"YAOI": A physical/romantic pairing between two males which often depicts graphic sexual situations. (Unlike the "softer" version, Shonen-ai (literally meaning "boy-love") Yaoi is much more graphic in nature and because of this is considered pornographic while Shonen-ai is not.)

YAOI MANGA LIBRARY SECTION: This will be a specific section in our manga library separate from the rest of the library and filled with well over 100 volumes of Yaoi manga.

YAOI SLUMBER PARTY: This will be held as an "after dark" event where attendees are encouraged to wear their PJs, bring their blankets, pillows, and plushies for a night of Yaoi-themed games, manga sharing, and movies.

YAOI PANELS: The goal of these events is to explain a specific subject in-depth. In this case, that subject is all things Yaoi.

NOTE: These events will contain graphic depictions of males in physical/sexual relationships with other males. If this offends you, do not participate in these events! Discrimination will NOT be tolerated, you will be asked to leave!

PLEASE NOTE THAT BECAUSE OF THE SUBJECT MATERIAL FEATURED IN THE ABOVE EVENTS, ADMITTANCE IS STRICTLY 18+ AND ATTENDEES WILL BE ASKED TO PROVIDE VALID PHOTO ID AT THE DOOR!!!

... And indeed it will be! Panda and I have some nifty things planned for this year's Yaoi events!

Also! Along the lines of all things Echi, I've been asked about having a Cosplay Burlesque Show as one of our After Dark/18+ events. While I still have to clear it with a few higher-ups, I think it would be a nice new addition to the 18+ events and have a group of professional Burlesque Dancers that I'm sure would love to come dance for us! ^_-

Aside from that, I'd like to keep this more on-topic. If anyone has ideas or is interested in the details of the Yaoi events, post here! Panda and I would love to hear your comments! ♥

Oh? I'm excited to see what you have planned. Are these events taking place on seperate days or all on the same? I may only come for one day, but we'll see. I'm really hoping to attend at least one of the Yaoi events you're hosting, Nataku. Though I'm kinda intimidated by lots of people, and I'll probably be a minority when it comes to attending this sort of event. ^_- Hopefully I won't get eated! Heh!
